Greasemonkey Icon Greasemonkey Scripts

Greasemonkey is an extension for the wonderful Firefox browser. It allows you to change the behavior of the websites you visit. I just got started writing some scripts, and I'll put them here as they're completed. Greasemonkey is a great tool for me to deal with annoyances on the web, as well as to improve my favorite sites.

Installing Scripts

  1. Make sure you have the latest Greasemonkey installed.
  2. Click on the install button for the script.
  3. Select "Install" on the dialog that appears.

Scripts

  • Collapsible Amazon - Amazon is a wonderful site, but sometimes the sheer amount of information on the product pages can be overwhelming. With this script, you can collapse most of the major sections of the product pages, and they'll stay collapsed - even on different products! Check out an example screenshot.
  • Swoopo Profits - Swoopo.com is the world's most ingeniously exploitative auction site. Using this script, you can easily see the incredible profits they make on people bidding on their items - sometimes hundreds of times the winning bid price! This script adds the estimated Swoopo profit above the current bid price and works on all the different Swoopo locations. Check out an example screenshot.
  • Better Maps - This script will change any MapQuest map (on MapQuest's site, not embedded in another page, unfortunately) or old-style (non-draggable) Yahoo Map into a Google Map. That's because I really don't like MapQuest or Yahoo maps, but lots of websites link to them.
  • RIAA Radar - RIAA Radar attaches a little graphic to Amazon product pages to tell you if the CD you’re looking at was released by an RIAA label, so that you can make intelligent decisions regarding who you give your money to. It's powered by the RIAA Radar database. Check out an example screenshot.
