Downloading and Installing XBList

  1. Download the XBList installer ZIP from the button on the right. Save it somewhere on your machine (don't choose to open it immediately).
  2. Unzip the file you just downloaded. If you need software to unzip files, try 7-Zip or WinRAR. You should only have one file, called XBListSetup.msi.
  3. Now you should be able to just double-click on XBListSetup.msi and follow along with the prompts. If it doesn't work, make sure you have Windows Installer 3.1 by visiting Windows Update or downloading it directly from Microsoft. You may also be told that you need the .NET Framework 2.0. If the installer doesn't help you get it, you can get it yourself from Windows Update or directly from Microsoft. XBList will work on .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5 too.

Setting Up Accounts

  1. Go to Xbox.com and click on the "My Xbox" link. (go directly there
  2. Follow the prompts there to create a My Xbox account and link it to your GamerTag and Passport account.
  3. Start XBList and click "Sign In"
  4. Internet Explorer will open (even if it's not your default browser - XBList needs you to log in with IE).
  5. Log into My Xbox using Internet Explorer, making sure to click "Save my email address and password"
  6. Wait a minute or so, and your friends list should show up in XBList.
